You can always build and improve your driving skills. No matter whether you are getting in the driver’s seat for the first time, or you have been driving for decades, I always put together a lesson that is perfectly suited to you.
Beginner driver lessons
Once you have your learners license you can start learning to drive a car on public roads. Doing lessons with me is a great way to learn the basics of driving a car, and together we can ensure that you only learn good driving habits right from day one.
As well as teaching you the practical aspects of how to operate a car, I also pride myself on teaching you how to be a safe driver, what to look out for when you are driving, and how to anticipate and plan for the actions of other on the road.
Passing your practical driving test
You could be going for your first try at passing your restricted license practical test, or you might have already failed your restricted or full license test once and need to hone your skills before you have another try.
Refining your driving skills
For most people, driving is something that they learn to do once, then never really think about it again. Like any complex skill though, you can always become a better, or safer driver, and that is why I offer refresher lessons.
Maybe you drive a work car regularly and they want to know your driving skills are up-to-date, or perhaps you want to make sure you aren’t a bit rusty behind the wheel for your own peace of mind. I can take you out for a refresher driving session, check your driving skills and help you correct any bad driving habits that have developed over time. I pride myself in helping in a friendly and supportive way.
The DrivenNZ training car
If you are getting behind the wheel for the first time, DrivenNZ’s dual control Suzuki Swift is a great choice for learning to drive in. It is small, light and easy to drive, and the dual controls mean I can help with accelerator and brakes if needed.
Even more advanced drivers can benefit from a lesson or two in our car, especially when trying to master some of the trickier manoeuvres like reversing and parallel parking. Our training car has excellent driver visibility, making it the ideal vehicle to learn in before you perfect skills in your own car.
If you are refining your skills prior to taking a practical test, then it makes sense to practice in the car you will take the test in. This could be our dual control training car, or your own vehicle, whichever you are most comfortable and confident in.
